08/30/2003 Archived Entry: "Disgaea"

Sorry there was no entry for the last few days. Been a little busy. Well, not really, more like "occupied." ^_^

First, there was the usual work. Nothing particuarily of note about that. I moved stuff and assembled stuff like always. So, on with the small anecdotes I care to share:

My friends were playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for Xbox the other day. Let me just say that that game looks interesting. It's rather compelling to watch because of just how open-ended it gets. My friend Anthony started a new game and headed down the light side of the force, while my friend Sataya already had a game where you headed down the dark side. Yes, and like I heard, being bad is more fun. What kinds of spiffy powers do light jedis get? Nothing. Dark jedis get all the spiffy attack powers and darnit, that's all we care about in an RPG, isn't it?

My dad took me out to another handyman job today. Today, the job was to change some facuets some guy... wanted changed... I suppose.... Nothing all that hard, but I never did it before, so I learned something new today. I can't say that it's something I wouldn't be able to figure out myself, but I would probably be lazy and call one of my friends over to help me just because I never did it before. I guess now I don't have to. ^_^ Let me just say that drains can get horrendously gunky. Like, when I was handling the bathroom faucet, out came that portion where the water drains. You wouldn't believe the sheer volume of mysterious black gunk in there. O_o Eww~.... Oh, and before I move on, let me just leave you peoples with a tip: work out them water valves. If you look under your sink, there are water valves probably connected to the sink by some copper pipes. Please open and close those maybe every few months to a year. It prevents corrosion and a lot of other nasty stuff that'll render it otherwise ineffective. You don't want that happening now, do you?

OK, the real reason why I haven't been posting for the last couple of days: I got Disgaea. It's been, like, forever since I last played a tactics RPG. I think the last one I played seriously was Shining Force on the Game Gear (who remembers those games?). However, I got really interested in Disgaea from what I heard, so I decided to give another one a shot. It's good stuff. The plot and characters are interesting and bizzare, while the gameplay is downright addicting. I'm about seventeen hours into it and I can say with certainty that at least five of those hours was spent leveling. It's so freakin' compelling, that I've been playing it at night, finishing late, and not feeling like going to the computer to post. I'm at it now though, so that's a good thing. ^_^

*Yawn* Hnn nya~.... I'm kind of feeling sleepy. I guess I'll just end this one here. See you folks later! *waves*

Hiyo! Finally you update. I thought you died. You're Vietnamese? [was looking at your old entries] Cool, didn't see it under your info. Haha, you should put a pic up or something. For some reason more people will visit. Anyways, keep up the good work!

Hmm... tactics games... I still say the FF Tactics is downright good! I don't know how Hoshigami did, but I'd love to get my hands on it!
