11/27/2003 Archived Entry: "Daddy - Job = No Worry"

My dad lost his job. Yes, no need to be all run-about about it, he was laid off. It's not like we weren't expecting it though. He's a technician for the semiconductor industry. He takes care of general maintanence for the machines that make all those wonderful wafers and such. Apparently, it's a dying job market here in Silicon Valley. There are people who can handle the job other places for less money. It was only a matter of time before this would happen. At least my dad had a backup plan going. I'm not sure whether I mentioned it before, but he's running a handyman business off on the side. That was very much a way for him to secure income in the circumstance that he loses his job. Well, it looks like it's going to accomplish its intended purpose now. I really don't know what kind of reprecussions this will have on my life, but knowing my parents, everyday life will continue to draw on as it always has. That's why I'm not worried. It'd probably be a big thing to most people when the income in their household is stripped, but I'm not one much to worry. Life is too nyeh when you're spending all your time worrying.

I'm sorry David, but things will look up in the future. =0)

I'm sorry about that. But it's good not to worry yourself. You can't enjoy life like that am I right? Good luck to you in the future.

I'm sorry that your dad got laid off, but he's smart for having a back up.
