05/05/2004 Archived Entry: "My Scare for the Day"

I went to some kind of Japanese festival in downtown San Jose this last, um... Sunday. Yeah, that's it. Anyway, it was kinda a small thingy they were holding in Japan Town San Jose (which is little less than a few blocks downtown ^^;). It only ran from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM. Unfortunately for me, I didn't make it out there until 2:00-3:00ish. ^^; Went with two of my friends and we basically strolled around for a while looking at the booths. I was kinda hoping for something exciting, but as far as the eye could see, the booths were all about selling Japanese items and related paraphanelia (I know I spelled that wrong ^^;;). I understand the capitalistic need to make money, but at an organized festival like that, wouldn't it be nice to break up the monotony with a few things to just look at or maybe a game or two to play? -_- At least San Jose Taiko was there. They were awesome! XD I heard that they were pretty good, but I never got a chance to hear them. That was some mad rhythm. XD And hey, one of my friends was performing. I never even knew he did taiko. ^^;; You live and you learn. At least that performance made my day and my visit. ^^

Today, I had one of my biggest scares in a while. After getting out of my photo class, I was all "alright! Lets go home! XD XD XD" When I got to my car, I was all, like, "alright, now time to open the car..." and then BAM! I couldn't find my keys! X_x I look through my pockets and bags: nothing. I run back to the photo building and search it throughly: nothing. I go to security and ask if anyone had turned it in: nothing. Basically, I gave up and headed back to the car. I would look in and around the thing one more time before calling home and asking my mommy or daddy to run out with another set of keys. On the way though, I saw a trash can I had, prior to class, tossed some food wrappers and leftovers into. I decided: "aw hell, it couldn't hurt to look...." And lo and behold, it was in there! O_o You don't know how relieved I was. >.< Yeah, that was my scare for the day.

Yappa (crap)! >< I KNEW I should have called you people to that festival! I was about to go, but thought none of you would be interested.

Glad you found your keys. ^^ Personally, I would've gone EVA berserk if that happened to me.

Oh my goodness gosh, that is some friggin scare you had there. I'd probably start crying if I couldn't find my keys in the classroom. -_-; and imagine if you hadn't looked inside that trashcan. ^^; Glad you found your keys!
They've had some Japanese Heritage Festivals at a local highschool but I haven't gone there. It's just food. Nothing I'm interested in really.
