Oh my... I did something today! Who'da thunk?

It all started out this afternoon when my cousin called. He wanted Office XP. After looking for it for a while, I couldn't find my copy in the house, so I called around and found one at a friend's. So I went over, picked it up, and brought it to my cousin's house. My cousin is a smart guy. He's a chem major. Them chem majors are hardcore, man. But he's pretty darn computer illiterate. It's like, he doesn't know anything. Only things he ever uses the computer for are typing and some light internet browsing. He needed me to install XP. -_-; And that I did. And he was happy. And the world rejoiced.

With that out of the way, we went to Popeye's for some chicken. I've never had Popeye's chicken before, so I was kinda curious. I gotta say, the stuff's not bad. I don't like it nearly as much as KFC's chicken, but it's pretty good. KFC.... Greasy goodness.... *drool*

With the fooding out of the way and without a thing to do, we decided to go watch a movie. He suggested that we head out and see "A Guy Thing." Now I don't know about you, but these feel good "guy meets a girl, a bunch of 'sweet' things happen, and they end up all happy-like at the end of the movie" teeny-bopper movies are just getting a bit old. Sure, it was somewhat amuzing, but geez... you can only rehash the same types of movies so often.... Kinda like them white guy, black guy comedy cop movies... or the white guy, asian guy comedy action movies. Meh....

Still with the drudgery that is schooling. -_- Not that my classes are really that bad, but nyeh, school....

I was pleasantly surprised today when I went to my first class. There was no teacher there. OK... that's not so unsual... but also, there were no students there. Now this class has a hundred students enrolled in it. Not a single one was sitting in a seat. I was all: "ok... am I missing something here?" I looked around for a note, but none was posted. After waiting for about ten minutes, I left and went to my car to lounge around for another fourty five minutes til my next class. ^_^

On my way home, something really cool happened. As I was driving out of the school, I was caught behind this one guy at a stop sign. I was in a straight-only lane and he stopped and just stayed at the stop sign, even when there were no oncoming cars. You know what that meant? He was a moron who was going to turn in a non-turn lane. -_- And that he did. Then, as soon as he made the turn, a cop on a motorcycle weaved through the lanes and busted him. XD Serves him right.

Now another car incident: as I was taking an exchange ramp onto another freeway, some moron in a Volvo decided to have to bright idea to pass me on the shoulder! Oh my freakin' gosh! It was so close! Had I not realized it in time and swerved to the left a bit, he would have taken off my right mirror. It was like, I could measure the distance between our cars using a ruler. Heck, half a ruler. After that, I promptly caught up with him and got down his license plate number. Now what to do with it...? ^_^ I could always call 311.... XD

Aside from the schooling, my life has pretty much been in a humongous social slump. The only thing I ever seem to do is popping in on my friend Cinti a lot. I would love to give you folks riveting stories about my social escapades, but unfortunately, I don't have any to give you. Oh well... maybe tomorrow....

Back to school after a nice, long weekend... of slacking off... and playing iRO.... ^_^;;

Had a test in Humanities today. Open book and open notes. Still rather challenging though. The subject matter, "the creative mind," is a very abstract concept. I have to understand all this crap about how the mind works and percieves order, uses the percept-concept process, and all this other junk. It's actually rather interesting, just hard to regurgitate because of its abstraction. I think I did well enough though, so I'm happy. ^_^

Today in my speech class, my teacher went over the concept of "whiteness" in America. Now I know what you're thinking: "doesn't that mean people who are white?" And I don't blame you. That's what I thought too, but apparently that's not the case. Apparently, as it pretains to my course, "whiteness" is merely a term indicating the advantages and standpoints/perspectives generally associated with white people in America. So get this, my teacher was going over how, traditionally, white people in America have been the ones with the most economic, political, and social advantages. Then he goes on to tell us that every single one of us in the class was "white" because we have a substantial economical advantage that allows us to have an education. Now I don't know about you, but doesn't this sound like a bunch of bull? I certainly think it is. I understand the concept and everything, but why use the word "whiteness" then? What's the point in using the term "whiteness," when it doesn't refer to something uniquely, well, white? I suppose in contemporary times, they are trying to change the meaning of the word, so that the original derivative word has no meaning. Think of it like the term "pop" music. "Pop" is merely a shortened version of the word "popular," but it has come to be known as a single genre of music instead of the broad definition of popular music. Of course, I never understood that either. Why can't people make general terms for these things instead of stripping words of their intended meaning?

Still playing iRO.... I'm working on getting a nurse hat for my cute little aco. ^_^ I need an excess of 100k zenny (the currency of the RO world). I have 46k. It's gonna be a while.... ;_;

The sisterly unit has returned for the weekend! Yes, down from the amazingly dull city of Davis, CA she has come. Yep.

Yesterday she went out with her friends, but today we spent the day together. We went out shopping. ^_^ After stopping by her workplace to do some things she needed to do, we went off to a nice little asian market called Ranch 99 to buy a spiffy decorative bambo plant thing for her friend. Nearby was a Q-Cup. For the uninformed, that's a chain of boba (pearl tea) stores. I can't say that I care for their chicken (Tapioca Express chicken ownz! XD), but they have lychee flavored tea and darnit, lychee is one of my favorite artificial flavorings (right up there with peach). We went in and looked around. Then I checked my wallet to find a mere $1 staring back at me, mocking me. -_- Darnit all! Gwar! *shakes fist* I wanted some lychee boba!!!!!!!111 ;_; Still feeling the hurt, we left and headed out to a mall refered to as "Valley Fair." Now I'm sure most everyone in this area has already gone there, but I haven't. Don't know why, I just never have. So today was an interesting adventure in an unfamiliar mall. My sister wanted to buy a Swiss army knife. Don't know why.... She just wanted the thing; in purple. So we headed to the spiffy store entitled "King of Knives." With a name like that, how could you go wrong? XD There were all manners of slick and dangerous looking sharp things in there. I was in freakin' heaven. j/k I just like playing with knives, that's all. XD Unfortunately for her, they didn't have the knife she wanted in stock, so we left that place empty handed. Wanting to get her friend a present, we went into Hot Topic. There, I saw one of the coolest things I've seen in recent memory: a Transformers steering wheel cover! Oh yeah, Transformers rulz. Feeling the insatiable urge to purchase the thing, I gave in and got a spiffy Autobot one. Yes, so now I have a really cool Transformers steering wheel cover. Be jealous. I know you want to. XD
