Just Wingin' It is now in version 3.

Darn you Zeruel! Your One Piece layout inspired me to make a pirate layout of my own. Since I haven't read One Piece (but I will soon enough) and since I don't have any OP sources anyway, I went with a Arcadia layout instead. But still... I blame this layout on you! =P

This layout is yet another evolution of my style. If you peoples have been keeping track of my layouts, you probably have noticed how they changed dramatically from one to the next. This one is no different. It is a less noticable jump than the one from v. 1 and v. 2, but still big none the less. The most interesting thing about this layout is the backgrounded image. In the last two versions, I did not work with images with backgrounds. I wanted to give it a shot in this version. Let me just say that working with backgrounded images is hard. I think I did a decent job editing, but I don't know... I feel like I could have done better/more. Something else to note is the fact that this layout incorporates layers. It's the first JWI layout to do so. I would have used them on the last layout, but it was right aligned, so layers would have caused problems at different resolutions.

The theme of this layout is discovery. One of the great things about Arcadia is that it gives you a wonderful sense of discovery. That was one of my favorite things about the game. So I decided to use discovery as the theme for this layout.

So what is my opinion about this version? Well... I initially set out to make something that I could truly be proud of. I'm not sure if I have succeeded or not. I know this is a huge step forward for me, but are still plenty of faults that I nitpick at. I'm never completely satisfied with my layouts. =( Well... at least this one isn't bad. I'm kinda fond of it, but I'm not sure if I'm completely proud of it. Oh well... it's another stepping stone along my path to true layout mastery.

Oh yah! Arcadia is a great game folks, go play it today. ^_^ I really, really like it. Too bad I can't play it anymore.... You see, my first disc had a scratch on it. The game would freeze occassionally and often when I loaded up my game. Trying to fix it, I used a GameDoctor my cousin just bought and still didn't know how to use. Because neither of us really had any experience, we kinda ground down a portion of the GD just a bit too far. Now my DC won't even read the disc. =( I want to play it too....

Oh yah, can't forget to mention, Aika's cute. ^_^

Today's White Day. Yah, I know no one celebrates it in the US, but my friends and I decided to. ^_^ Well... not traditional White Day. We were just hanging out one day around Valentines when I believe it was Sataya who suggested that we dress up for White Day. There was no reason not to, so it was decided. Today we were to wear black pants, a white dress shirt, and a tie. I had a shiny, silver tie. It was fun to wear something like that to school, although kind of annoying when I had to explain to every other person, but all in all it was still quite fun. Stupid Vincent, Anthony, and James. You were in on it too! You should be ashamed of yourselves. Well... at least Sataya and I were stylin'. ^_^

I had a Powerpoint presentation due in ICA today. I had to do a presentation on a career or school, so I did mine on graphic design. Why? I'm interested in it and besides, I used this opportunity to play around in Photoshop. Seventeen slides, each with a different background. ^_^ I didn't spend too much time on them, but they don't look half bad. I love the cloud render filter. ^_^

In physic today we learned how we can figure the direction a magnetic force using our right hands. The direction of the magnetic force on a moving charge is always perpendicular to both the magnetic field and the velocity of the charge. Thus, take your right hand and make an "L" kinda shape, i.e. four fingers facing one direction and try to make your thumb stick out perpendicular to those. From there, align your thumb to the velocity vector and your fingers to the magnetic field vector. There! Now the magnetic force should be shooting straight out of your palm. ^_^ It's an easy way to figure out where the magnetic force is. *This is for a positive particle. Remember to reverse the direction of the thumb for electrons*

Something I have to complain about is my physic lab group. Argh! They are the laziest lab group in the entire class. Whenever we do a lab I do most of the work, if not all of it. It's really, really annoying. I yell at them and all, but they still don't do anything. Today I just got pissed and really yelled at them. Smacked them a little too, although not especially hard, since I'm really not a violent person. If positive reinforcement won't work, I have to use some force. Geez...

I'm really anxious right now... I'm downloading Full Metal Panic 6 and Onegai Teacher 8 in Direct Connect right now... I want to watch them now!!! I'm impatient. I want to slack off some more. ^_^

I don't know what took me so long to finally figure this out, but now the entry/comments pages look nice. No more crappy default Greymatter templates. Them things are hard on the eyes. ^_^

I've been slacking off a lot recently. The great thing is that I can. I haven't had a whole lot of work to do since Thursday or so. I've been spending a lot of my time in Photoshop, learning things and practicing things. I love Photoshop. Fireworks is alright too, since all it seems to be is a stripped-down Photoshop. Yeah, I know there are exclusive features, but I'll never use those anyway, so what's the use of using it? Oh well... I have it if I ever do want to use it. I also just got Paint Shop Pro. Wow... I can see how it's similar to Photoshop, but the feel is so different. I don't know... I'm just so comfortable in Photoshop now that PSP just feels wrong. I guess I'll spend some time someday to get used to it, but I'm not in much of a rush. I like my Photoshop just fine. ^_^ Can't wait for Photoshop 7! I hope they beef up the vector tools. It should be more like Illustrator. Oh yah, I also just got Illustrator 10. I haven't installed it yet though. I'll get to that someday....

I just went out to Target. There I finally took the plunge and bought a trackball. I've been meaning to do this for a while. I really, really want an Expert Mouse, but unfortunately I don't have $100 to spend on a trackball. Instead I got a Marble Mouse. It's nowhere near Expert Mouse caliber, but it's not bad at all. It's optical. ^_^ Trackballs are great. I love them.

Something I have to mention:
I was walking around Target with my sister when I saw them selling red, white, and blue ribbon in a shape like those little red AIDs ribbons. I tell you. I totally respect the guy who made that. I found someone else who I can respect for his marketing genius. He's right up there with the origami paper and star paper guys. Come on, selling cut paper for ludicrous prices? How can you not respect that? Now this guy's selling little strips of ribbon, just folded over. Dang... I want to do something like that... I need to get thinking....

I was looking at a notepad I have lying around in my kitchen when I happened upon the words "World Fibre" written along the binding. Why the heck is the word "fibre" pronounced like "fiber?" What is up with that? Why can't english be spelled phonetically? I don't understand. It would make everyone's lives easier. Now we have "American" english and "English" english, and there are deviations within each of those. I don't get it. Stupid english...

Also, what's up with the concept of infinity? Why is infinity over infinity not equal to one? Why is anything over infinity not equal to zero? Why is anything over zero not equal to infinity? Stupid peoples and their "calculus." *Grumble grumble*
