I came home to day to be greeted with the coolest news since, well, I don't know since when. ^^; It appears that my daddy has gotten himself a new job! XD If you remember, he lost his last job on Thanksgiving of last year. Well, he has been doing some handyman work on the side to keep the family going and it has been fine, but apparently he has a job job again. ^^ I assume it's through his friends and their connections, but he has been hired by Western Digital. Hopefully that means that I get discounts on hard drives. XD

Oh, been up to a lot of FFXI. I'm finally a 50/25 white mage/summoner. XD I've wanted at least level 50 for so~ long! X_x Auto refresh!!!! XD

I have not not been writing in this thing for a few weeks. *glances away and whistles*

To tell you the truth, I don't think a lot of my life is worth retelling these days. But believe it or not, something monumental (read: worth writing in my log) happened yesterday: I escorted my kouhai to her senior ball.

This log has been around log enough, so if you're a long-time reader, you might remember that I didn't attend my own senior ball. You can attribute that to the fact that 1. it would cost a lot, 2. I didn't have a date, and 3. Fanime was in the timeframe and I wanted to spend my cash there. You can also say that I've never been the biggest fan of dances. Some are just plain bad because they can be boring and such, but there have been the occasional ones that have been somewhat enjoyable because I've been able to spend time with friends. So what possessed me to go to this prom with my friend? Well, she wanted to go to her prom and she had no date. Being that I had no prior engagements and my pretty good financial condition most of the time, I left her an open offer to take her as a friend. Thus she accepted.

First thing's first, there was one thing I really didn't like about this event: I didn't get a white tux. >.< I've always kinda wanted to wear a white tux, but NO~... they didn't have any in my size at the tux rental place. Forget the fact that I tried to get my tux three days before the prom. ^^; They should have extra coats to accomodate me! XD

As for the actual event itself, I picked her up and we headed on over there. It was being held at the Decathalon Club in Santa Clara, CA. It's, like, some kind of fancy health center. Within the complex, there's a fancy area leading to some conference rooms and with a bar and they were holding it there. It's a pretty place. ^^ But while the decor was nice, it was, how should I say, kinda small. ^^; At first, when they filled the place up with tables to serve dinner, it wasn't as readily apparent, but after the eating was completed and they cleared areas for the dancing, it got a tad crowded. X_x Granted, there were only two small areas dedicated to dancing, but yeah....

Lets see... the food was good. XD My date and I got prime rib and it wasn't half bad. After dinner, we had some cheesecake and that was just plain awesome. Cheese cake owns most everything. XD

As for dancing, we didn't do much. We had a single dance and it was the last dance. ^^; Well, I would have danced as much as she wanted, but she didn't suggest dancing until the last song, so meh.

What did we do then? For the most part, we talked. She's the kind of person I can spend a lot of time talking to, so we were just going on about a bunch of junk.

Overall, the event was kinda uneventful, but that's not like it's a bad thing. Sure, it wasn't the most thrilling event I ever went to, but it was nowhere near "bad." I got to spend some quality time with my cute little kouhai, even if we were confined to the dictates of a formal event. Yeah, tip the scale a little towards the "I had a good time." Not too much mind you, but it's definately leaning that way. ^^
