Heh... I've been posting less than usual lately.

That's because I've been going to Milpitas Golf Land way too much. Yah, and I'm darn proud of it! ^_^ Hey, if it means that I get to play Soul Calibur II a lot, then that's fine with me. ^_^ You know my characters in conquest mode? Remember that I mentioned that they had less than spectacular records? Well now they don't anymore. ^_^ They better be better considering the time and money I've spent on them. Both my characters (Tsubasa=Cassie & Tsubame=Talim) now have about 180 wins and 45 losses. Tsubasa has the rank "Platinum Soldier of the Cerebus" and Tsubame has the rank "Platinum Soldier of the Furies." They are the 4th and 5th highest ranked conquest mode characters. ^_^ I guess that's what happens when you spend a good five and a half hours at the machine. ^_^ That was yesterday. Today I went back and played through maybe four times with either character. Oh yah, I'm happy. And all this playing has helped me improve my game. More happiness ensues. I'll be back tomorrow. You can bet good money on that. ^_^

Aside from that stuff, today I had two parties to attend.

One of them was my little cousin's 12th birthday party. She's getting so big! I remember when she was just a little bitty thing. ^_^ How do children grow that fast? It's like I see her one time and then next time bang! She's all bigger and junk. ^_^ Ah... what was my point again...? Oh yah, I went to her party and had some fun with family. Woo.

After that I went to my friend's "before I'm going away to college" party. There I interacted with friends, watched a movie, and did some fooding. Yay.

One thing I've been thinking about: diet soda. What the heck's up with it? I suppose it's a nice alternative for them diabetics, but there are non-diabetics who drink the stuff. They don't want the extra calories or something. Bah! If you're on a diet, don't drink any freakin' soda! Really! Besides, who knows what that artificial sweetener actually does to you! You're probably better off drinking the original soda. It's probably better for you in the long run!

That's all for me now. Must go into a state of SCII withdrawl now.

La de da... did stuff today....

Earlier in the day, I went out to Kinokuniya again. Woo! I wanted to find the manga Angel/Dust by Aoi Nanase, but they didn't seem to have it. =( So I made a special order with them and it'll arrive in a few weeks. ^_^ Yay! Aoi Nanase rulz! I've been a fan of hers ever since I've seen her Nako drawings. By far my favorite rendition of Nako. Partially the reason why I like her as much as I do now. So yah... I'm a big fan of Aoi Nanase. Hopefully it won't take too long to get to me....

Went to MGL again. ^_^ I'm sad... my Cassie (Tsubasa) racked up loses like no one's business. When I got there, she had nearly a 50/50 win/loss ratio. =( Now that's just wrong. At least my Talim (Tsubame) is still doing fine. She has a really good record actually. Anyway, I went through twice with Tsubame and once with Tsubasa before I had to leave. At least they should be somewhat better now. I need to go more often. There are already several characters that are way better than my two. Although granted, most people seem to be raising one character, while I'm splitting my attention between two. Oh well... at least once I get them up to speed, they can both rack up wins like no one's business. I'm not trying to brag or anything, but I play a hecka lot better than most of the people that ever play on that machine. So yah... must play more.... Go green team! ^_^

Hmph... I've been meaning to rant about something for a while: love. Over the past couple of weeks, I've been reading logs written by various people. Some of them were obviously hopeless romantics. Now this just annoys me. As much as I say that I myself am a hopeless romantic, I can't deny that I am extremely cynical about the whole concept of love. Sure, I believe in all that one special person and being romantic and such, but I don't go overboard. I think you can get to a point when love is just plain cheesy. Now I'm reading these logs and I read all about how one person "loves" another and all these cheesetacular quotes about love. Bah! Now for one thing, the people writting these logs are teenagers. I'm not saying that teenagers cannot experience true love, but I think it's highly doubtful. These people are proudly proclaiming that they "love" their significant other and such. Bah! I severly doubt that they know what they are talking about. Love is so superficial these days. Lust or infatuation is very often confused with love. I see it all the time. I can't tell you how many times I've seen it. So it disgusts me when I see my peers go around proudly proclaiming to the world that they "love" someone. Also, when they are all in this lovey-dovey state, they always like to spout out the most cheesy lines! Generally it's stuff from poems or songs, although occasionally it's an original line. That disgusts me too. Like I've stated, I think that you get to a point where it's just too cheesy. That disgusts me the most. Oh whatever... like any of these people will really listen to me.... I'm not sure if they even read my log.

Edit:
Don't know how I forgot this last night, but welcome back Riku! Check your e-mail. ^_^

No posts for two days!? Something must be wrong! ^_^

Seriously now, there really wasn't much that happened these last few days. Yesterday I did go to see the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." Now that's a funny movie. It was even better because I went with my 1/4-Greek friend, who told me just what was happening and why some things were just so funny. Although granted, you don't really have to know much about the Greek culture to just watch the movie and enjoy it. It's funny as heck I tell ya. Windex cures all that ailes ya! ^_^ HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Other than that, I've been playing more SCII. ^_^ Hehe.... Went to MGL on Monday and today. I have a fairly good grasp of Cassie now. She's so fun to play. 236B rulz! ^_^ It's, like, so freakin' fast! It doesn't have any horizontal range what-so-ever, but if you just use it as an interupt, it's almost godly I tell ya! Aside from that, ABK and ABB mixups are fun. As is K~B, which plain ownz grounded opponents. The machine at MGL finally has Cervantes and Conquest mode now! Conquest mode is so fun! It's a mode where you make a character and train it by fighting with it. The game will create an AI routine based upon your fighting style, so when you aren't there at the arcade, people can still, in a way, fight you. It's brilliant! I'm working on two characters: Tsubasa (Cassie) and Tsubame (Talim). I have quite a bit of fighting to do to improve their AI though. They suck like heck. =( Oh well... I have no life and a month to kill.... ^_^

I got a TI-89 calculator! Yay! Now I can tackle my smartsy-fartsy college math classes with comparative ease. ^_^ Really now, these things do way too much. I'm not complaining though, I have one. ^_^

I've been getting back into anime music. For a while there I was listening to a lot of J-Pop, then a lot of K-Pop, and now I'm onto anime. I like anime music so much. There's just something about it. I guess it's different enough from mainstream music to make it stand out somewhat. All you get in mainstream music is basically the same stuff. It's all pop or R&B about some lost love. Anime music is different. Sure, there's a lot about love, but there's also a relatively large percentage of songs that aren't about love. And there's so many different types of anime music. You don't get songs that all sound the same all day long. Yep. *listens to "Tremolo" by Nakama Yukie and from Haunted Junction*

I need to get together a costume! I want to make one by Halloween, so that I can wear it to my friend's Halloween party. Me thinks I'll dress up as Sumeragi Subaru this year. Subaru's just so slick! ^_^ Anyway, for the costume, I'll need a white trenchcoat, which coincidentally, I've been trying to get for a while. ^_^; Eh... does anyone near me know where I can get a relatively cheap trenchcoat? I've been told I can get one at an army surplus store, but I don't know where the nearest one is. ^_^; I need suggestions here folks!

Steph:
You have a Kinokuniya too!? Yay! Isn't it great!? There's just so much manga there. ^_^ They also stock darn recent stuff, so that's a plus too. Hm... interesting books you have and/or want there.... "Backgammon" doesn't sound bad, but I haven't seen Spirited Away, so I'm not exactly out to get the "Groundwork of Spirited Away." Personally, I really want the "X Zero" book and the "Xenogears Perfect Works" books. The X book should be pretty straightforward. I can get that at Nikaku anytime. But the Xenogears book.... Now that's gonna be a hard one to get. It's rare now ya know. If I do find it, I'm gonna have to pay a wad of cash for it though. =(

Kitty Kat:
Eh... *blush* thanks for the compliments... and the linking.... ^_^

Today I was bored out of my mind at home, so I went out to MGL for a while.

It's been eight days since I've last been to MGL, so I had to get back into the SCII groove. ^_^ Played some Talim again, just so I don't get all rusty, then I spent quite some time with Cassie. Now that I'm getting to learn her better, I'm actually really liking her. Although I like Sophie better as a character, I think I kinda like Cassie's fighting style better. She's more of a rushdown character. A lot more close-range fighting, which I'm really getting to like. I used to playing a kinda ranged Xiang and Sophie because they can both be played that way, but now that I'm playing Talim and Cassie in SCII, I have to do a lot of close-range combat. I finally tried out the broken move, her 44A. The one that causes a stun of 37 frames, but impacts in 33, so you can do it endlessly without consequence or retaliation. I suppose it's alright, but I don't like it much. And--maybe I haven't found it yet--I don't like how she doesn't have any quick moves out of 8WR outside of maybe 66K. Oh whatever. She's still fun to play. ^_^ The controls are horrible though. =( Them sticks are optical! OPTICAL! Not to mention the sticks have soft springs. Now that has to be the worst combination for a SC cabinet. I can't register neutral at all I tell you! I haven't tried it yet, but how am I gonna do some advanced angel step setups (the things that look like long distance numbers ^_^) when I'm struggling with doing angel steps themselves? At least I can still RCC flawlessly....

On the way home, I stopped by Tapioca Express because I've been deprived of their chicken for too long. ^_^ Level 5 of course. ^_^ The chicken was a bit dry today.... Not an extremely plesant surprise for my return to Ioca Chicken....

Popped by the San Jose Kinokuniya today. After hearing about the Love Hina Mugendai book, I just had to get it. It's a new special edition book, like Love Hina 0 (mugendai=infinity). Anyway, this thing is freakin' thick! The binding's like 2.5 cm wide! As for contents, there are things like story information, timeline of the series, character rankings, profile pages, color art pages, stickers, an interview with Akamatsu Ken, and some other good stuff. It's a great book. I'm glad I finally have some accurate character statistics. I was kinda thrown off with the conflicting measurements from the Love Hina 0 book and the anime measurements. At least now I have some definative information about that and other things from Akamatsu himself. Hey... Kanako's birthday is August 1, 1983? I heard somewhere it was April 8, 1984.... The character rankings are interesting.... Last I heard, the top three went something like: Naru, Shinobu, Kanako. Apparently by the end of the series, it went more like: Naru, Motoko, Shinobu. Kanako was bumped down to 4. Still good though. ^_^ Kanako's just too lovable not to be up there, eh? ^_^

Because I got the Love Hina Mugendai book, I've been reading Love Hina again. Agh.... Don't get me wrong, I love the series. I can definately say that it's my favorite manga. It's just that... it's making me feel all sappy. True, I do claim to be a romantic, but most of the time I probably seem more cynic than hopeful about love. I stopped being all sappy romantic somewhere around this year probably because last year I had really hectic times with girls. Lets just say that I had seven admirers and, no, it wasn't all that great. It was really stressful and frustrating; especially since nothing worked out. So yah... I don't get sappy romantic much anymore. It takes something like Love Hina to get me like this. The story's so sweet and touching. And unlike many other manga, the pacing doesn't feel rushed, so I just get completely engrossed in it. Darnit... Naru's so cute.... Many of you know that I like Kanako, but Naru was my first Love Hina girl and she's probably still the girl I prefer. Sure, Kanako's better towards the end, but Naru's probably my overall favorite. Darnit... I want Naru. I want a girl.... Freakin'....

Random thing:
Phobophobia-fear of one's own fears
Alright... now if you already fear your fears, then why would there need to be a term for it?

Aaa~ I had a good time yesterday.

It was my friend Jen's birthday party. Woo! The thing is though, it was in Vallejo. ^_^; That is just kinda a ways from San Jose. About an hour drive or so. So yah... I had a heck of a time trying to find a ride. I got one though, so I made it and had lots o' fun.

Highlights:

On the way there, we stopped by Oakland for a while because someone had to do something there. While we--the people who weren't doing anything--were waiting, we decided to go to the asian shopping district of the city. Now I don't know about you, but I really don't especially enjoy going to asian shopping districts. There are only three things that come to mind when I think of "asian shopping district": food, cell phones, and cheap merchandise. Really now, there's nothing else! Sure, I can find some anime stuff sometimes, but most of the time it's cheap Chinese knock-offs. -_- Although, maybe they are worth visiting for the food. That's generally pretty good....

At the party I got reaquainted with real food. Aaa~ since Monday, I haven't been able to eat real food. But yesterday I was feeling a lot better, so I got to eat anything I wanted. ^_^ And that was some good food. Yup, yup. ^_^

I learned how to play Mah Jong! Oh my... I didn't expect it to be that fun! It looked kinda hard at first, but when you actually start playing it, it's not hard at all. Reminds me of hanafuda, with all the flowers. ^_^ Anyway, I really want a set now! I'm gonna ask the parents. Hopefully they'll buy me one. How much do them things cost anyway? I... want... more... Mah Jong....

Onto other things...
I want a theme song! Darnit! I just think that'd be so cool. I want to be able to enter a room and have heroic music playing in the background. ^_^ HAHAHAHA Why can't real life be more like video games? You don't know what I'd give for a camera that'd focus in on important objects when I enter a room. ^_^ Anyway, back to the theme song thing... if I were to pick one existing song to be my theme song, I think I'd like "Tatakae! Otaking!" (Otaku no Video opening). ^_^ So yah... along with my official drink (Ramune), I proclaim "Tatakae! Otaking" as my theme song. ^_^

New layouts:
PLUG: Hana's
PLUG: Ti-chan's (although I kinda made this one ^_^;)
PLUG: Mizuki's (although this is a hiatus one ^_^;)
