Day of school #2

For the most part, the class composition for today was radically different from Monday. I did have Anthro in the morning again. I have it every day, Monday through Thursday. Nothing much to note about that....

Directly afterwards was a class I wanted to add: Art 16A or beginning oil painting. The teacher is... um... a colorful guy.... He went on for a little while about how he's really liberal and how he pretty much allows anything we want in our projects, all in the name of self-expression and such. Seems like the students are allowed a lot of freedom with their works, but he will grade the pieces somewhat harshly. Well, anyway, after the class, he added a few people and I just happened to be one of them! XD Yay! I got into one painting class. It's the harder and more expensive one, but hey, I got in one. ^_^;;

Finally, I wanted to add one more class, but that was in the evening, so after heading home for a while, eating, helping my sister load her car and seeing her off on her return to Davis, and finally returning to school, I headed over to the classroom. The class is Art 12: design and color. As I came in and sat down, I looked around and saw that there was plenty of space for everyone who showed up to sit down. That's always a good indication when you want to add a class. ^_^ Ms. Teacher Lady deliberates for a while and allows us to fill out a survey and then finally adds people to the class. And, who'da thunk, I made it into this class too! XD Good day. Something that's not quite so good: I have to get some acrylics for this class. After not getting into acrylic painting, I thought I didn't have to pickup any. ^_^;; Oh well, I only have crappy acrylics at home anyway. It'd do me good to get some decent stuff.

All in all, my quarter's looking good. I was a bit worried there for a while because I actually forgot to register for my classes during the summer and when I realized it, my registration date had already passed over a week ago. ^_^;;;;; I'm just glad that I was able to add into most classes I wanted. I really wanted to start in on 3-D design already, but the class didn't have a waitlist. ;_; Next quarter. I should have priority.... XD

Maa~!!! Today was my first day of school and thus, the official end of my summer break. ;_; Aa~... those were some good times, but I guess everything needs to end eventually....

As is not an uncommon practice with me, my first class was at 7:30AM. I like my classes early. ^_^; This particular class was Anthropology 1. Hm... I was chatting with my cousin before-hand, so I actually made it to class a few minutes late. I picked up a green sheet and sat down while my teacher went on about the class. He went on about how it's more important to take notes in college and how us students should work on taking good notes because the tests are open note. (XD XD XD XD XD) Now, maybe it's because I'm going to a community college, but I've been able to handle most of my lower-division classes in the exact same way I handled my high school courses: more or less not trying. Usually sitting in class, taking notes I'll never refer to, and winging it on tests. Of course, I know many people can't do that, but I certainly can, so I can't really understand what he's talking about. *shrugs*

My second class was Art 2A: Ancient Art History. Looks like an average art history class: i.e. informative, but boring. ^_^; What makes it worse is the fact that it's in a theatre... with dim lights... and comfy seats.... ^_^;;; It's kinda nice because I know I won't fall asleep. I have yet to fall asleep in a class and I'm intending to keep that record. I've had classes with similar conditions and I've come close, but haven't quite dozed off. I'm just glad I get to study some more archaic art than I have yet studied. Woo.

Third class: Art 15A: Acrylic Painting. OK, so I'm not officially enrolled in this class, but I am on the waiting list, so I'm trying to get in. I've yet to really dwelve into the medium of paints, so I'm kinda excited. Unfortunately for me, it doesn't look too promising that I'll get in. -_- And I've been wanting to learn more about acrylics for a while. Oh well, I'm wait listed for oils too, so if I can't get into one, I can try to get into the other. ^_^

You may notice a trend in my classes; that being a lot of art classes. Well, if you have, then it's not just your imagination, I am taking a lot of art classes. That's because I've essentially completed my general education requirements and now I'm working towards my lower-division transfer requirements in the field of 3D animation. This is one of those "I'm following a passion" majors. I've been an animation fan and gamer for well over a decade and I guess it's the only major I really care to follow. This quarter marks the first step towards that major. It feels kinda nice to finally feel like I have direction in my education.
