OMG, my anthro teacher so friggin' rulz! He, like, gave the class the topic of every single question on the test we're taking next Thursday! XD To top that off, it's an open note test! XD XD XD XD XD On top of that, I think I can wing it without studying a bit. Yeah, I'm happy. ^_^

Today, in oil painting, my teacher did a varnish demonstration. I was expecting more, but he just took some of the varnish on a big brush and just went over it quickly. ^_^; Come on, when the man says it's going to be a "demo," doesn't that sound a bit more involving? At least I got to learn some stuff about the chemistry of oils painting. Stuff about how natural saps are some of the nicest looking because of a high reflective index and all that crap. There's a lot of science that goes into oil paining! I honestly didn't realize that before going into it. Of course, I knew next to nothing about oil painting at that time, so that isn't saying very much. ^_^;;

Earlier today, Gamestop called me. Apparently, for those who pre-ordered FFXI, some limited-edition mouse pads arrived and they were distributing them. Well, needless to say, I just had to pick one up. XD I, like, don't even use a mouse (trackballs all the way, baby!), but hey, who can turn down a free, limited edition extra? XD XD XD The thing is kinda cheap and has a very generic image, but hey, it's free, so I can't complain.

For a project in my design class, I had to look through magazines to find solid color swatches. Being the nerd that I am, I picked up the Macworld magazine because there were no other tech mags. Not a huge Mac fan, but they are well-built machines and do some pretty impressive things. That's when I came upon an article about the new G5s. Oh freakin' man, them things sound so~ sweet. *drools* I'm envious of Mac owners. By having standardized machines, they are able to get sweet brand-new high-speed ports and standards. PC users don't usually get that. -_- Well, at least, on the plus side, PCs are cheaper. ^_^ Wouldn't mind owning a Mac too someday, but them price tags are a real defining factor.... Guess I'll only have Windows and/or Linux boxes anytime within the forseeable future....

-_- Why is it that something always happens at nights preventing me from posting? I only like to post at night and for the last week or so, I've been either 1. busy or 2. tired/sleepy. *sigh*

My friend and I had the most interesting talk today. Being that we're, well..., who we are, we were talking about how we'll be dirty old men. ^_^ Well, think about it. I'm a guy. I like young, about high school-aged girls. When I get older, I'll probably still like, at the very least, looking at high school girls. So, with that thought in mind, I say that I can imagine us years from now, going: "hey! It's 3:00! Lets pass by the high school... several times! XD" Hey, can you blame us? Anyway, with that as the conversational topic, we said that we felt old. Later, without even realizing it, we went over some talk about California's recall junk. You know, all the hullabaloo that's happening right now. That made us feel even more old. ^_^;; That prompted my friend to ask: "what do old people talk about?" Honestly now knowing myself, I replied: "um... I don't know... Medicare...?" We got a good chuckle out of that. XD Especially since we actually did have a little discourse on the subject. ^_^; Following that train of thought, I said: "next we'll be talking about retirement." And that we did. ^_^;;;

I got some equipment for my computer! XD I picked up an ATI RADEON 9800 Pro 128MB. XD XD XD XD XD For those who aren't in the know, that would be one of the best video cards currently on the market. So it set me back $380 or so, so what? Now my Final Fantasy XI experience shall be really nice because well, this card is overpowered for the game. ^_^ Now all I need is a new CPU and I'll be quite set. A lot of independent characters are bogging me down in the official benchmark program and I have figured out that it can only be attributed to my processor. It's currently a Pentium 4 1.5GHz, but my motherboard supports up to a 2.6GHz processor, so I'm picking that up in a week or two when I have the money. ^_^ Man, I feel so giddy about computer hardware. Reminds me of my earlier days. Maybe about four to five years ago, I was a real computer geek and kept up with the recent hardware developments. Kinda fell out of that in favor of anime, manga, and video games, but now I'm getting back into it. It probably won't last for long though. After FFXI is actually released, I'll probably go back into my "I'm interested, but not willing to look up info on it" state. I just want to happily play it without any problem on the hardware end, that's all.

Which brings me to a point: I'm getting really psyched about FFXI. The last and, well, only MMORPG I've played was RO. And while that was all fun and good, it had kinda died out with my friends and me, so we've been looking for another game to get into. FFXI looks to be it. I'm so looking forward to finally getting back into a game that'll sap most free hours of my life away. ^_^;; Sure, it's counterproductive like hoy, but at least it will be enjoyable. I'm gonna play a white mage. ^_^ Nyah! I want it! ;_;

Look at this! XD XD XD They're plushie consoles!!! XD I gotta give a hand to that Ms. Zumi. She does good work. Currently, they aren't for sale, but I hear that there's a possibility that they will be when there are a few more systems represented. I don't know about you, but I'm really wanting that Dreamcast plushie....

My life is really busy these days. Man, when did that ever happen? For as long as I can remember, my life wasn't busy. Back in the day, I was just a normal, uninteresting kid whose most interesting event included going to school and having an unspectacular day. These days I still have school, but I also have work and quite a bit of socializing and just plain hanging out with friends. In some ways I suppose it's a good thing, but I kinda miss the whole being at home and just lounging around without anything to do. I've always taken comfort in an environment free of change and worry. Well, I admit, I'm not worrying much about anything, but my life is still rather dynamic right now. *shrugs* Nyeh.
