Today was the SCII North Pacific Regionals, the qualifying events for the SCII National tournament. It took place at SVGL (Sunnyvale Golfland), which is a mere 20 minutes away from me. I have been training for this day for the last week or two. I didn't attend. ;_;

After working on improving my game, readying myself for today, a mere three days before the tourney, my friend e-mails me an invite to her birthday party. I'm not good with dates, so I don't remember most of my friends' birthdays. Because of this, I didn't even see it coming. Upon reading it, I was torn. Sure, I've been looking forward to regionals for weeks, but this was a friend's birthday. On one hand, I could go to regionals and have a guilty conscious, and on the other, I could go to the birthday and be completely disappointed. I chose the latter.

Sometimes I wish I were more selfish. This is one of those times. Sure, I went to the birthday and had fun, but right now I'm feeling utter disappointment because I couldn't even attend regionals. Sure, I'm nowhere near good enough to place, but I just wanted to participate. I've never really been a big part of any national gaming scene and I thought this was my big opportunity to participate in something big. I participated in the first "Monthly Bidness" tourney at SVGL a while back, but that was nothing compared to this. I wanted to play. I wanted to see how I could do against some of the best. I wanted to meet people. I just wanted to be there.

I know I can't blame my friend because it was her birthday, nor am I intending to. It was her birthday and I really did have fun. I'm just devestated because I was so~ looking forward to this. In keeping with my philosophy, I'm not going to regret my decision, but honestly, if I did allow myself to regret, this would be one big regret.

Stupid downtime last night. *shakes fist*

*Yawn* *sigh* lately I've been sleeping a lot. It's not like I really intend to. I sleep unnecessary amounts because I think that sleeping is kinda a waste of time. I mean, like, you can't do anything while you sleep, can you? Sure, maybe some snoring, possibly talking, or even walking, but even then it's not conscious activity. So yes, getting back to my point, I've been dozing off unintentionally. It happens when I get burnt out on math and I decide to lie around for a while on the bed in the computer room. I'm like "I'll just lie down here and rest for a while" and before I know it, I'm waking up at 1:00 in the morning and I'm all like "what...?" I guess some people wouldn't mind, but I do. I've never been much of a sleeper. Regardless of when I go to sleep, I always seem to wake up at 8:00-9:00 in the morning. I guess my internal clock is really accurate. Bah....

I got Hellsing vol. 3!!! It was released on Tuesday. I got it on Thursday. ^_^ More fabulous Hellsingness for yours truly. Not just that, I happened to buy the limited edition pack. Yes, I got the spiffy Alucard figure. ^_^ Sure, it cost me... I think it was in the neighborhood of $45, but it's worth it I tell you! I love LE packs. ^_^ As for the show itself, it's getting even better. Just one problem: WHY DID THEY END IT THERE!?!? I NEED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!!!!

Social later.

As many of you could tell from my last entry, math is getting to me. Stupid calculus! Stupid differentiation! Gwar! I'm not getting fabulous grades on my quizes and tests and I'm really worrying about my final grade. I don't want to get any bad grades just yet! I just started college! Agh! I'll put my nose to the grindstone and hopefully pull up my grade. I've actually been working harder recently. After this entry, I better get to my homework.... I'm doing "related rates" right now. Basically it's implicit differentiation in the form of word problems. x_x I hate word problems. What the heck is wrong with numbers? Why do they feel the need to use words? Darnit, math should be just numbers! Alright... maybe a variable or two..., but never full words! (Yes, I'm quite aware that math is meant to be used to solve real-life problems, i.e. ones involving words, but humor me, I'm annoyed here.)

Gag... aside from mathly happenings...

Lemons have started to grow again. w00t! The spiffy lemon tree in my backyard is sprouting them after a very long while of well... not... sprouting... them.... I'm happy. ^_^ Know why? Well, to me, lemons = lemonade. Yes, lemonade. XD I'm a big fan of lemonade. Favorite drink it is. It's especially good when it's fresh homemade stuff. Like the stuff my mom makes, like, on a daily basis when there're lemons growing on our lemon tree. XD Again, I reinterate, w00t!

Today I saw the most interesting thing on the road: a Hummer. Yes, not some whimpy SUV, a "High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle." After seeing unending poser SUVs, seeing a Hummer was quite exciting for me. You just don't see them often enough. Now that's an off-road vehicle. It even followed me on the freeway for a while, so I got to stare at it in my rear-view (but I still kept an eye on the road). ^_^ Now I wouldn't drive one (sports cars are more my speed), but if I wanted to do some off-roading, I'd sure want one. 190 hp, 430 lbs torque... 430! *drool*

Thanks everyone for the kind layout comments. They are much appreciated. ^_^

It's alright you didn't call me. Why don't you call me some other time? Do you have a cell with unlimited night and weekend, and free long distance? Or at the very least, access to one? ^_^

Yay! Riku's going to SPAM me again! Wait... is that such a good thing...? ^_^; Haha! Aa~... well I look forward to your own comment boxes. Must... SPAM.... XD

Good luck with your college apps. I know lots o' people are suffering from them. I guess you are too. Good luck, ok? *pat pat*

Mizuki:
Yes, black and white layouts unite! *shakes fist* Join me! Grr... *shakes fist*

Thanks so much for the encouragement with school. Let me just wish you good luck yourself. From the fact that you wish to kill many of your classmates, I take it that school isn't very pleasant for you. Well... do what I do: ignore idiocy. It makes life a lot easier, let me tell you. Although, you do ignore a whole~ lot of people if you do so. ^_^;;

Maki:
Yes, it's been far~ too long. I'll make it a point to comment more. ^_^

Saka:
Well, darnit, I think your designing skill's really goodly, so there! I will proclaim you as one of my favorites if I so well choose! =P

Saga:
Ooo~ Saga in a cheerleading outfit.... Cute! Hahahaha! OK... you can hit me now. ^_^

Heh... thanks for the encouragement. You're such a great imouto. Makes me feel kinda bad for not replying yet. ^_^;;;;;

Lini:
Yay! New commentor! ^_^ Alright... so I commented on your log first, but it's nice seeing you do the same for me.

Glad I made you feel better. ^_^

Danny:
Aa~... The Godfather, eh...?

Glad to hear that little incident concerning that one site and Anime-SkinsCOM got resolved. Eh... well... I wasn't exactly part of the effort, but I really intended to be. It just kinda slipped my mind as I was browsing through logs. ^_^;; Well... at least everything's good now.

Just Wingin' It version 14: "Canta per me"

It's about time I got up a new layout. No matter how sentimental the last layout was, it was horribly designed. I can't stress that enough. So I decided to get back to designing (I've been slacking recently) and put together something not horrible. ^_^ This is what I concocted.

As you can see, it is black and white. I wanted to give just black and white a shot because I've been meaning to for a while now. What I didn't realize is that designing in black and white is really fun. Colors don't really get in the way and so it simply boils down to designing skills to make the design look good... or not good. I got to try a few new things. Can you see them? I hope everyone likes it (i.e. leave comments ^_^).

Finally (last comment on the layout), IT'S KIRIKA! XD

Alright, so how's life? Pretty boring again. At least today I went out and spent some time with my cousin... who lives a block away. ^_^; Well... even though we live in close proximity, we never seem to do stuff together. Today he came over to borrow stuff and I convinced him to go to MGL. There, I got some practice at SCII, while he tried it for the first time. He was pretty good at SC, but he still has a ways to go to adjust to the SCII changes. I anticipate playing him on an even level someday (I utterly whooped him today).

Life is boring. Nothing ever happens now that I'm in college. ;_;

Social (yes, the return of social!):
Saga:
Good luck with all your work imouto! Just a few more weeks to go before a sweet vacation. ^_^

I'll get that e-mail to you soon enough. Probably tomorrow or so.

Riku:
First, plug.

Poor imouto.... *pat pat* Seems like you're going through hard times with school and all. I'm sorry I haven't said anything yet. I really should have sent you an e-mail, but I'm really lazy at writing those. ^_^; Well... good luck with everything, ok?

Parallel Dreams is back up, eh? I suppose that's a good thing. Well... except for those annoying IRL peoples.... Good luck with that too, ok?

Remember, I care for you.

Mizuki:
New layout. Plug plug. Lookin' nice. ^_^

Gomaki:
New layout too. Plug plug. Spiffy. I always like your layouts Maki. ^_^

Saka:
Another plug plug. Man, Saka... it's official, you're one of my favorite designers, so there! =P Magnificent. ^_^

Sepia:
Heck, it might be older than the other ones, but I haven't plugged it yet, so here I go: plug. ^_^

Vilya:
Plug. An autumn layout. Very clean and attractive. I see your style developing nicely Vilya. ^_^

Danny:
Plug. It's new, it's slightly different from your normal stuff. I like it. Although... I'm not sure what the photo's from. ^_^;
